If you see the ink is about 1 inch from the tank bottom, swirl open the tank and remove the big silicone refill plug. Pour more ink into the tank and close it. Thats as easy as easy gets. The printer is equipped with ARC (Auto Reset Chip), so it only resets automatically.
Then, press the blue button and open the printer lid. Hold down the reset button on the CIS for two seconds, release the button, and close the printer lid. You will see the printers ink monitor is full again. The mechanism behind the ARC chip is the Epsons ink monitor, which is a one-way counter that remembers how many pages have been printed. Once the monitor reaches the maximum page number, it will think the cartridge is empty.
The Epsons OEM chip will stay at the maximum count, but the ARC chip will roll back to zero. However, the Epson will be confused because the page count will be zero but you havent changed the cartridge yet. This is the reason it will think the cartridge is damaged. Therefore, follow the above steps to fool Epson into thinking you are changing the cartridge. The reset button will cut off the electricity for a few seconds, tricking the Epson into believing youve taken the chip off the base. Many people will see the low ink warning, which Epson displays in a window that says xxx cartridge is low on ink.
Epson will display this when the page count is about 20% from the maximum page count. The low ink warning will not stop the printer from working. Just dismiss the window and keep using the printer until the cartridge reaches the maximum number and the printer shows xxx cartridge cannot be recognized or xxx cartridge is damaged or missing. Then you will know the ARC chip has been reset.
Epson has a patent on the cartridge design, which uses a one-way flow regulator inside the cartridge. All third party cartridges do not have this component. If we take a look at a regular CIS cartridge, it only has an empty shell. The regulator helps prevent back-flow and air bubbles, and thus reduces clogging. This is why people have found that their Epson OEM cartridge can magically fix a clogged printer. Epsons cartridge has two functions: 1 Hold ink and 2 Hold a chip. Therefore, why do we still need a cartridge, when we have an outside tank to hold the ink and there is no need for a chip? We get rid of the cartridge completely. Now we can be as fancy as we want for the ink flow regulator. Without the patent restriction on a cartridge, we are going DOWNTOWN! You will have the best of the best ink flows. We made all the tubes transparent so that you can observe and troubleshoot any ink flow issue. Unclogging is super easy; just blow air into the external tank, and you will see ink flow from the tank to the printhead. Sleek and Transparent Ink Tank. Because you will monitor the ink level from the outside tank, we designed the tank wall to be transparent. The ink level is easier to see, and the tank cover matches the original Epson printers design nicely. We use authentic BCH sublimation ink. BCH is a US company and a certified partner of HP. Epson ink uses an exclusive microencapsulation technology where each ink particle is encased in a resin. Similarly, we put sublimation colorants in resin and then suspend them in a polymer matrix that performs much better than regular dye sublimation ink. This design is especially suited for Epson and has resulted in many advantages. BCH sublimation ink particles lie on top of transfer paper and are not absorbed into the coating. BCH ink produces a much smaller spot size with the same size ink droplet and thus provides higher density with a darker black.
An ICC profile is basically a set of data that ensures that the designated color is consistently and correctly delivered on the substrate. The profile ensures the correct color output for a given setting. For regular printing, we drop ink on a paper, and there are just three factors involved: printer, ink, and paper. In sublimation production, we have many players, such as the printer, ink, temperature, transfer medium, press time, and product substrate. Therefore, a generic ICC is almost always useless.
When we ask an ink company for an ICC profile, they just whip out a file that they think most people would use. We know sublimation inside and out, and we want to give you a customized ICC profile with this printer. A customized ICC will bring your result to commercial production grade and make it ready for the market. After you receive the printer, we will ask you to do a series of prints and find the best configuration for your project.
Please note that we will need the product on a flat surface so our machine can scan it. If you are making mugs, please use something similar to your product, such as a ceramic plate.
We made a video which showed that a bad transfer paper (bought from Amazon) is just as good as using a copy paper. So do not skimp on the paper. Every dime invested in the paper will show in the final product. We sampled almost a hundred types of paper on the market and picked the one that works best for this printer. Letter size (8.5 x 11).
High-quality dye sublimation transfer paper. Do I Need Coated Substrate? Sublimation works directly on polyester fabrics and polymer-coated hard substrates such as a mousepad. However, it will need a coating for cotton, mugs, metal, Chromaluxe, and other rigid substrates. How Can I Get Support? Our company and the support group are US based.
